Punta Ala by Salvatore Ferragamo, composed by Alberto Morillas and released in 2018, is a woody citrus named after a stretch of Tuscan coast. Everyone who describes it calls it woody and citrusy; about two thirds add floral, and a third find it musky.
The notes are listed without stages. Lemon, mandarin and bergamot open with a clean, sunny citrus, and neroli adds a fresh, slightly bitter orange-blossom green. Jasmine gives the heart a soft, warm floral body. Olive tree is the distinctive note, bringing a green, slightly bitter, leafy, Mediterranean quality. Cedar and vetiver dry it down into a crisp, slightly smoky wood, patchouli adds earth, and musk smooths the finish.
It is worn by anyone. Community data on longevity and sillage is not yet available. The character is daytime and warm weather through and through, suited to holidays, offices and casual wear, and to someone who likes a citrus that lands on dry wood rather than sugar.
