Imperial Wood

Imperial Wood by Pana Dora, the Swedish house, was composed by Ibrahim Al Zoabi and released in 2021. Despite the name, spice leads, with amber close behind and gourmand, woody, resinous and leathery touches in support. It is meant for anyone.

Cardamom, cinnamon and cloves give a warm, dense spice from the outset, with a herbal, slightly medicinal edge and safraleine adding a leathery, saffron-like note. Cocoa introduces a dark, bittersweet chocolate tone. As it deepens, frankincense brings a smoky, resinous haze, tobacco a dry, honeyed warmth, and agarwood its dark, woody richness. Leather and amber fill out the base with a smooth, glowing warmth.

This is a rich, enveloping scent made for cold weather and evenings: winter nights, formal dinners and occasions where a spiced, smoky trail feels appropriate. It suits people who love incense, oud and tobacco fragrances, especially those with a cocoa-tinged, spiced character.
