Mariya, composed by Hamid Merati-Kashani for Omanluxury in 2020, is a floral fragrance for women by every account, with about half of wearers also calling it gourmand. A third find it citrusy, and a minority spicy or woody.
Rose is at the centre, in both its Bulgarian and Taif forms, the first fresh and green, the second deeper and spicier. Orange blossom adds a sweet, slightly honeyed white-flower note, and geranium gives the roses a leafy sharpness. Bergamot and mandarin orange brighten the opening, with coriander adding a gentle, aromatic spice. The gourmand side comes from caramel and vanilla, which give a soft, buttery sweetness, and coffee, which adds a roasted, slightly bitter depth. Patchouli grounds the base with earthiness.
Rose with coffee and caramel suits cooler weather and evenings more than hot days, and it points to a wearer who likes a rose that is rich and dessert-like rather than dewy or soapy.
