Mana, from Nishane in 2022, was composed by Christian Provenzano. Spicy is the word everyone uses for it, most also call it woody, more than half resinous, and a good share find it green, floral and leathery.
The notes are given as one long list rather than a pyramid, and together they describe a dense, dark spiced wood. Black pepper, ginger and saffron supply the spice, warm and slightly leathery. Agarwood gives a resinous, smoky woodiness, frankincense adds dry smoke, and labdanum a sweet, balsamic warmth beneath it. Turkish rose runs a floral thread through the middle, oakmoss adds a green, earthy dryness, and suede and castoreum bring a soft, animal leather at the base, with sandalwood smoothing the finish.
It is worn by anyone. Expect a composition where spice and resin lead and the rose stays in a supporting role, rather than a fragrance that reads as floral first.
