Green, woody and citrus in equal measure, Boise Fruite by Montale is a crisp, dry scent that smells more of leaves and bark than of fruit, despite its name. Pierre Montale composed it in 2009, and it is worn by anyone.

Bergamot and lime give the opening a sharp, zesty brightness, and petitgrain, distilled from the twigs and leaves of the orange tree, adds a bitter, green, slightly woody freshness that sets the tone. Violet leaf brings a cool, cut-stem greenness with a faintly metallic edge. The base of sandalwood and vetiver is dry and smooth: vetiver gives an earthy, rooty, slightly smoky quality, while sandalwood softens it with a creamy woodiness.

Most wearers find it long lasting, and a minority report it lasting almost indefinitely; projection is moderate for most, strong for some. It is voted mainly for summer and spring and for daytime, which suits warm weather and anyone who wants a fresh scent that is green and woody rather than sweet or aquatic.
