The opening is a cluster of warm spices: saffron, black pepper, nutmeg and red chilli pepper, dry and heated rather than sweet. The heart turns resinous and soft with labdanum and amber, musk adding skin-like warmth, while violet leaf cuts through with a cool, green, slightly metallic freshness that most wearers register as the green side. The base of sandalwood, patchouli, oakmoss and Ambroxan is smooth, earthy and faintly salty, giving a long, quiet drydown.
