The notes are listed together rather than in stages: oud and rose at the centre, with raspberry, saffron, incense, benzoin, birch, geranium and amberwood around them. Oud brings a dark, resinous, slightly medicinal wood; rose and geranium a full, green-edged petal; raspberry a jammy sweetness that softens the oud; saffron a warm, leathery spice. Incense and birch add smoke, benzoin a sweet balsam, and amberwood a dry, radiant warmth that carries everything.
