Eternal Oud by Lattafa Perfumes, released in 2022, is a sweet, resinous scent in which the oud plays a supporting role. Gourmand sweetness is what most people notice, then resins, with musky, floral, amber and citrus touches.
It opens with plum and grapefruit, a ripe, dark fruit set against a bitter citrus. The heart is orchid and heliotrope, soft and powdery with an almond-like sweetness. The base is where the body is: amber, labdanum and benzoin give a thick, balsamic warmth, tonka bean and vanilla add sweetness, and agarwood brings a dark, slightly medicinal woodiness that keeps it from being purely dessert.
