Karl New York Mercer Street is a crisp, peppery woody scent with a surprising floral streak: everyone who describes it says woody, about two thirds add spicy and floral, and a third notice musky, aromatic and citrus facets. Alienor Massenet composed it for Karl Lagerfeld in 2020, and it is a masculine fragrance.

Lime and rhubarb open it with a sharp, sour, green brightness, and basil adds a herbal, savoury edge. Pepper and white pepper supply the spice, dry and tingling rather than warm. The floral note is jasmine, including a watery, dewy jasmine, which gives the heart a clean, slightly soapy freshness rather than anything heady, with geranium adding a rosy, minty lift. White woods and woody notes form a pale, clean base, vetiver adds a dry, grassy depth, and musk softens the finish.
