Guess for Women, created by Maurice Roucel for Guess in 2006, is a light, fruity floral with a fresh and cheerful character. Flowers lead, about half of people notice a sweet side, and a minority mention citrus, woods, musk and amber.

The opening is crisp and juicy: green apple, bergamot, tangerine and strawberry give a bright, playful fruitiness. The heart is a soft bouquet with red berries, lily of the valley, peach and peony, sweet and dewy, with ylang-ylang adding a creamy floral touch. The base settles into oakmoss, cedar, amber and musk, a soft, clean warmth with a hint of woody dryness.

Most wearers find its longevity moderate, with a fair number calling it weak, and the trail is moderate or close to the skin. It is voted mainly for summer and spring and largely for daytime. That suits casual days out, shopping, holidays and anyone who wants an easy, youthful fruity floral.
