Folie d'un Soir is a resinous rose from the French house Goutal, released in 2022 for women. Everyone who describes it calls it floral and resinous, and about half each add spicy, gourmand, amber and leather.
Pink pepper opens it with a rosy, slightly fizzy warmth that leads straight into the flower. Turkish rose is the heart, deep and a little jammy rather than fresh. Around it sit frankincense and myrrh, which bring a dry, smoky, church-like resin and a sweeter, balsamic bitterness respectively.
