L'Humaniste, created by Sidonie Lancesseur for Frapin in 2009, is a crisp, spicy citrus scent with a gin-and-juniper twist, and it is rated highly by its reviewers. Spice leads, citrus is strong, and a minority notice sweetness, greenery and flowers.

Pepper, pink pepper and cardamom open with a dry, tingling spice, brightened by Amalfi lemon and bergamot. The heart brings peony, thyme, nutmeg and juniper berries, a fresh, herbal and slightly floral blend where juniper adds a clear, gin-like coolness. The base combines oakmoss, gin and tonka bean, a mossy, boozy and softly sweet finish.

Most wearers report moderate longevity and a moderate trail, sometimes close to the skin. It is voted equally for spring and summer and overwhelmingly for daytime. That suits office days, garden parties and warm afternoons, for men who like a fresh, aromatic scent with a cocktail-like character.
