Amber, from the French house Franck Boclet, is a warm floral amber released in 2014 and worn by anyone. Everyone who describes it calls it floral and amber, and about half add gourmand, green and woody.

The notes are staged. The opening is unusual for an amber: bay leaf and oregano give a green, herbal, slightly peppery start, with ylang-ylang adding a creamy, banana-like floral richness. The heart is jasmine and patchouli, the jasmine heady and sweet, the patchouli earthy and dark. The base is amber, resin and vanilla, a warm, balsamic sweetness that gives the scent its name and its gourmand side.

There are no community reports yet on how long it lasts or how far it projects. Resins, vanilla and jasmine suggest autumn and winter evenings, and the herbal opening makes it more interesting than a straight sweet amber, for someone who likes warmth with a green twist.
