Whisky Black Op from the French brand Evaflor, released in 2018 for men, is a dry woody scent with an aromatic, lightly fruity top. Woody is the word everyone uses; about a third also call it sweet, floral, resinous, ambery or citrusy.
Bergamot and apple open it with a crisp, slightly sweet brightness. Lavender and geranium give the heart a clean, aromatic, faintly rosy character, and pepper adds a dry, warming spice. The base is firmly woody: cedar for pencil-shaving sharpness, vetiver for earthy smoke, patchouli for depth, and labdanum for a resinous, slightly leathery warmth. Ambroxan gives the finish a radiant, mineral lift that keeps it from feeling heavy.
Reports on longevity and sillage have not yet been collected. By character it is a versatile masculine scent for autumn and spring, daytime or evening, suited to someone who likes a traditional aromatic woody style without much sweetness. It is sold in a large bottle.
