Sérénité en Bourgogne

Sérénité en Bourgogne, a 2025 release from EIGHT & BOB worn by anyone, is a spiced vanilla over oud. Everyone who describes it finds it spicy, sweet and woody at once, and about half add resinous.

Pink pepper and saffron open it, the pink pepper bright and slightly rosy, the saffron dry, leathery and faintly medicinal. Bourbon vanilla and vanilla then form the sweet centre, creamy and warm rather than sugary. Vietnamese oud gives the wood a dark, resinous, slightly smoky depth, and patchouli adds an earthy dryness beside it. Myrrh is the resin, bitter and balsamic, and it keeps the vanilla from becoming a plain dessert.

Longevity and sillage have not yet been reported, though vanilla, oud and resin compositions are usually long-lasting. The combination belongs to cold weather and evenings, and it suits someone who likes vanilla with spice and a dark, woody backbone rather than a light, gourmand style.
