Velvet Desire is a rich white-floral fragrance from Dolce&Gabbana, composed by Rodrigo Flores-Roux and released in 2011. Flowers dominate clearly, with ambery, spicy and sweet touches noticed by a minority.

The scent is built on heady tropical and white flowers: tuberose brings a creamy, almost buttery intensity, gardenia a lush, slightly green petal note, and frangipani and champaca a sweet, apricot-like exoticism. Orange blossom adds a honeyed brightness. A touch of cinnamon gives warmth, and in the base vanilla, amber and Peru balsam create a soft, resinous sweetness that wraps the flowers like velvet.

It is a full, sensual floral that feels most at home in the evening, at dinners and special occasions, and in warmer weather when white flowers bloom. It suits someone who loves tuberose and gardenia and wants a generous, elegant floral rather than a light one.
