Tendre Poison by Dior, released in 1994 and composed by Edouard Fléchier, is a green-tinged, honeyed floral. Floral is the accord everyone names, with about half also noting sweet, woody, musky and citrus facets.
It opens with asafoetida, a resin with a sharp, green and slightly sulphurous edge, alongside mandarin orange and bergamot for citrus brightness and Brazilian rosewood for a soft, rosy woodiness. The heart is lush and sunny: tuberose brings a creamy, heady white floral, honey a golden sweetness, freesia a fresh, peppery note, and orange blossom and rose a soft bouquet. The base is warm and powdery, with vanilla and heliotrope giving an almond-like sweetness, sandalwood creaminess and musk a soft finish.
People report long-lasting wear and a strong trail. It is voted mostly for spring and summer and mainly for daytime, which suits daytime events and celebrations for someone who likes green-edged, honeyed white florals.
