The notes are listed without a pyramid. Gin and lime make an unusual, cocktail-like opening, crisp and slightly bitter, with mint adding a cool freshness. Galbanum brings a sharp green note and nutmeg a warm, slightly peppery spice. The woody base is built on cedar and Texas cedar, dry and pencil-like, with cypress adding a resinous, evergreen freshness and vetiver an earthy, smoky depth. Amber warms the finish.
Classic is positioned for men. Its fresh, dry character suits daytime wear and works well in spring and autumn, and it is likely to appeal to anyone who wants a clean, understated woody scent rather than a sweet one.
