Book by Commodity is a quiet woody scent with a fresh, green opening. Wood leads, with green, fresh and ambery tones in support and lighter herbal and citrus touches.

It opens with cucumber for a cool, watery crispness, eucalyptus for a clean, mentholated lift and bergamot for a little citrus brightness. The heart is softer and more aromatic: artemisia and lavender add herbal, slightly bitter greenery, while amber brings a gentle warmth. The base rests on Haitian vetiver for earthy dryness, guaiac wood for a soft smokiness, sandalwood and cedar for smooth and dry wood, and tolu balsam for a light, resinous sweetness. Black tea and musk run through the whole, giving a dry, papery calm that suits the name.

Most wearers report moderate longevity and a moderate trail that stays fairly close. It is voted for autumn and spring and mostly for daytime. Worn by anyone, it suits reading, working and quiet days, for someone who wants a calm, comfortable wood scent.
