Rose Seljuke by Chopard, released in 2018 and composed by Alberto Morillas, is a sweet rose for anyone to wear. Everyone describes it as gourmand, and two thirds also call it woody and floral, which places it closer to a rose dessert than a rose garden.
The notes are few and clear. Bulgarian rose and rose give a rich, slightly jammy flower with a honeyed edge. Madagascar vanilla and vanilla bring a thick, creamy sweetness, and tonka bean adds an almond and hay warmth. Woody notes and an oriental woodsy accord give it structure, a dry, resinous backbone that keeps the vanilla from becoming cloying.
There are no community reports yet on how long it lasts or how far it carries. Rose and vanilla in this proportion usually suit autumn and winter and the evening, and will appeal to someone who likes comfort scents with a floral centre rather than a fresh or green one.
