Davana opens it, a herb that smells fruity, boozy and slightly apricot-like, giving the start an odd, heady sweetness. The heart pairs coffee, roasted and a little bitter, with tonka bean, which adds a warm, almond-and-hay sweetness; together they smell like a dark, sugared espresso. The base brings in labdanum for a sticky, amber-like resin, oud for a dry, smoky, faintly animalic wood, and sandalwood for a creamy smoothness that rounds it off.
