Grapefruit and bergamot give a bright, sharp opening, joined by black pepper, Sichuan pepper and cardamom, which add a dry, tingling and cool aromatic spice. Elemi brings a fresh, lemony resin, and jasmine a light floral touch. The base is dark, as the name suggests: incense adds a dry, smoky haze, guaiac wood a smooth, tar-like smoke, cashmere wood a warm, woolly softness, and vanilla, amber and musk a sweet, golden finish.
