Rosa di Filare by the Italian house Bois 1920, released in 2012 and worn by anyone, is a rose-centred floral. Half of wearers also describe it as woody and citrusy, and a quarter notice sweet, green or ambery sides.

It opens with bergamot and mandarin for citrus brightness, black currant for a tart edge and litchi for a sweet, juicy note. The heart is built on Turkish and Bulgarian rose, full and slightly jammy, lightened by lily of the valley and given a cool, green freshness by bamboo. The base of patchouli, amber, iris and cedar brings earth, warmth, a powdery softness and a dry, clean wood.

A fruity rose over soft woods suits spring and autumn days and reads as classic rather than trendy, well suited to anyone who wants a rose that is neither sugary nor austere. Community reports on longevity and sillage are not yet available.
