Dia Woman, created for Amouage by Jean-Claude Ellena in 2002, is a soft, airy floral with a woody, musky base. Flowers lead clearly, wood follows, and green and musky shades are noted by a good share of people, with a minority picking up something fresh and citrusy.

The opening is green and sparkling: violet leaf and fig give a cool, leafy freshness, bergamot adds light citrus, and aldehydes bring the clean, slightly soapy fizz typical of classic perfumery. The heart is a bouquet of rose and peony, made powdery and refined by orris root, which lends an iris-like, lipstick softness. As it dries down, incense and sandalwood create a gentle, smoky warmth, rounded by a soft, musky finish.

Many wearers find it long lasting, and the trail is mostly moderate, with some calling it strong. It is voted mostly for spring, with autumn next, and chiefly for daytime, which suits elegant office wear, lunches and formal daytime events for anyone who likes a refined, quietly classic floral.
