Lemon and bergamot open it with a bright, zesty freshness. Neroli and orange blossom, the two scents of the same flower, make up the heart: the neroli green, slightly bitter and cologne-like, the orange blossom sweeter and more honeyed. Petitgrain, from the leaves and twigs of the tree, adds a bitter green edge that keeps the whole thing crisp. Cedar gives the base a dry, light wood, while musk and amber provide a soft, faintly warm finish so it does not vanish entirely once the citrus has gone.
It is a daytime scent for spring and summer, fresh and well-mannered, and it suits anyone who likes classic neroli colognes with a little more staying power. Those who enjoy orange blossom in its cleaner, less sweet form will feel at home.
