Paris, Sophia Grojsman's 1983 fragrance for Yves Saint Laurent, is a floral for women in the fullest sense; green, woody, musky, amber and citrus sides are each noticed only by a minority.
The opening is a garden in one breath: rose with mimosa, hyacinth, hawthorn, orange blossom, geranium, nasturtium and green notes, brightened by bergamot and warmed by cassia. The heart deepens the bouquet around rose and violet, with lily of the valley, lily and lime blossom for freshness, ylang-ylang for creaminess, jasmine for richness and orris root for a powdery softness. The base of iris, heliotrope, sandalwood, cedar, oakmoss, musk and amber is powdery, woody and warm, holding the flowers for hours.
About half of wearers call it long lasting. Sillage is strong for more than two fifths and moderate for a third. It is voted for spring above all and mostly for daytime, which suits a big, generous rose-violet floral for bright days and occasions.
