Hand in Hand from the Spanish house Ramon Monegal, released in 2014, is a spiced, woody rose. Everyone who describes it calls it floral; most add spicy and woody, and a minority find it green, musky or leathery.

The notes come as one list. Galbanum opens sharp and green, with coriander and cardamom adding a fresh, aromatic spice. Bulgarian rose and rose form the heart, full and slightly jammy, with geranium adding a greener, minty rose facet and ylang-ylang a creamy sweetness. The base is where the depth lies: oud for dark, resinous wood, Madagascar vetiver for a smoky, earthy dryness, leather for grip and musk for a soft, warm finish.

It is worn by anyone. Community data on longevity and sillage is not yet available. The rose-oud-vetiver structure suits autumn and winter and evenings, and will appeal to someone who likes a rose with green bite and dark wood rather than a soft, powdery one.
