Bergamask is a citrus floral from Orto Parisi, composed by Alessandro Gualtieri and released in 2014 for anyone to wear. Everyone who describes it names citrus and flowers, and about half also find it sweet, woody, musky and herbal.
It opens with bergamot and lemon, a sharp, sunny zest. The heart pairs orange blossom and lily of the valley, one honeyed and one green and dewy, with lavender adding a dry, herbal, slightly soapy edge. The base is tonka bean, cedar and musk, a soft, almond-sweet warmth over dry wood, which is where the staying power comes from and what turns a cologne-like opening into something far more persistent.
Most wearers call its longevity eternal, and most of the rest say long lasting; projection is reported as strong or enormous by most people, which is remarkable for a citrus scent. It is voted mainly for summer and spring, and clearly for daytime, so this is a warm-weather citrus for someone who wants it to last all day and is prepared for it to be noticed.
