The notes are few and listed without stages. Birch gives the scent its most distinctive quality: a smoky, tarry, slightly sweet note associated with traditional leather-making, and the main reason the leather here reads as rugged rather than soft. Leather itself follows, and white woods together with further woody notes provide a dry, pale, clean woodiness that keeps the smoke from becoming heavy. Musk sits underneath, adding a warm, skin-like smoothness to the drydown.
