Aoud Lagoon is a green, watery floral from Montale, composed by Pierre Montale and released in 2016 for anyone to wear. Floral is the accord everyone names; most also find it green and woody, and a minority citrusy. Despite the name, no oud appears in the note list.

Mandarin opens it with a soft, sweet citrus, and lotus follows with a cool, aquatic floral freshness that gives the scent its lagoon-like, slightly dewy feel. Tiare flower adds a creamy, tropical white-floral note, and osmanthus a gentle apricot-and-tea sweetness. The base is distinctly green and woody: moss and oakmoss bring a damp, earthy depth, vetiver a dry, rooty earthiness, and guaiac wood a faintly smoky sweetness that keeps the dry-down from feeling thin.

It is a daytime scent for spring and summer, fresh and a little unusual, and it suits anyone who likes tropical flowers paired with moss rather than with vanilla. Those fond of lotus and osmanthus should find it a calm, pleasant wear.
