Tanagra by Maison Violet, composed by Nathalie Lorson in 2018 and worn by anyone, is a soft, powdery iris floral with a fruity opening. Everyone describes it as floral; about half also find it woody, and a quarter notice sweetness, musk and citrus.
Freesia, pear and tangerine open it, the freesia fresh and peppery, the pear crisp and juicy, the tangerine soft and sweet. The heart is iris, peony and jasmine: the iris cool, powdery and slightly earthy, the peony fresh and rosy, the jasmine adding a warmer, richer depth, so the middle is elegant and a little cosmetic. The base is cedar for a dry wood, vetiver for a smoky, grassy earthiness and musk for a clean, soft finish.
It reads as a refined daytime fragrance for spring and milder weather, suited to someone who likes iris and wants it fresh and gently fruity rather than dark or heavy.
