Ilhabela, released by Le Couvent Maison de Parfum in 2024 and composed by Jean-Claude Ellena, is a gourmand with smaller and equal touches of spice, musk and amber.
Named after a Brazilian island, it has a warm, sunny sweetness. Mandora, a citrus related to mandarin, gives a soft, juicy and slightly tangy opening. Almond and sweet almond then come to the fore, bringing a creamy, marzipan-like nuttiness, joined by heliotrope, which adds an airy, powdery almond-and-vanilla floral tone. Cinnamon brings a gentle, warm spice. In the base, vanilla and sugar add sweetness and Ambroxan a radiant, slightly salty warmth that gives the composition lift and keeps it from feeling heavy.
The note list is short and clear, so the scent reads as a single soft, sweet impression. The profile suggests cooler days, relaxed evenings and cosy occasions, and the light citrus also makes it wearable in mild weather. It is meant to be worn by anyone who likes almond gourmands in a soft, airy rather than dense style.
