Qaed Al Fursan from Lattafa Perfumes, released in 2016, is a woody amber that about half of wearers also describe as spicy, gourmand and floral. The result is a sweet, resinous wood scent with a fruity twist, worn by anyone.
It opens with saffron, which gives a warm, slightly leathery spice, set against pineapple for a bright, sugary fruitiness. The heart turns greener and cooler with balsam fir, a sharp resinous note like fresh conifer, softened by jasmine. In the base, agarwood brings a deep, smoky woodiness, amber adds warmth and sweetness, and cedar keeps the drydown dry and pencil-like.
Most people report moderate longevity and moderate sillage, with about a fifth finding it long lasting and a smaller group calling the projection strong. Unusually for an oud and amber composition, it is voted mainly for summer and spring and for daytime, which suggests the pineapple and fir keep it lighter than its notes imply.
Qaed Al Fursan — unisex fragrance by Lattafa Perfumes (released 2016). Top notes: Pineapple, Saffron. Heart notes: Balsam Fir, Jasmine. Base notes: Cedar, Amber, Agarwood (Oud). — Parfica open fragrance database
