Soleil by the French house Lalique, released in 2019 and composed by Benoist Lapouza, Alexandra Monet and Barbara Zoebelein, is a women's gourmand through and through. Nearly everyone describes it that way, while spicy, woody, musky, floral and citrus touches are each noticed by only a few.

The opening is brighter than the rest: mandarin orange gives a sweet citrus lift, cardamom a cool, aromatic spice and bitter almond a dry, marzipan edge. The heart is a patisserie counter, with candied almond, caramel and milk bringing a creamy, nutty sweetness, coffee a roasted bitterness that keeps it grounded, pear a touch of juice and jasmine a faint floral lift. The base is soft and nutty, with praline for sweetness, white musk for a clean finish and sandalwood for a smooth, milky wood.

Just over half of wearers report moderate longevity and a fifth find it weak. Sillage is moderate for most and intimate for a quarter. Unusually for a gourmand, it is voted for summer and spring and worn mostly by day, suggesting a sweet scent light enough for warm weather.
