Essential by Lacoste Fragrances, composed by Laurent Bruyere and released in 2005, is a fresh, woody citrus for men with a green twist. Woody and citrus are reported equally, with spicy, green and floral sides at about half that strength.
The opening is tangerine and bergamot sharpened by tomato leaf, which brings a sappy, slightly bitter greenness, and cassia, a cinnamon-like spice. The heart is pepper and rose, a dry, peppery floral that is more crisp than romantic. The base is sandalwood and patchouli, creamy and earthy, giving the scent a modest woody anchor.
Most wearers report moderate longevity, with a share finding it weak, and the trail is moderate or close to the skin. It is voted for summer and spring and almost exclusively for daytime. It suits someone who wants a clean, green, unobtrusive scent for work and warm weather, something to wear without thinking about it.
Essential — for men fragrance by Lacoste Fragrances (released 2005). Top notes: Bergamot, Cassia, Tomato Leaf, Tangerine. Heart notes: Rose, Pepper. Base notes: Sandalwood, Patchouli. — Parfica open fragrance database
