Caleche, from the French house Hermès, is a feminine floral composed by Guy Robert and released in 1961. Flowers lead, with a woody side about half as strong and lighter citrus, green, musky and fresh touches.

Aldehydes give a sparkling, soapy, champagne-like lift at the start, with lemon and neroli adding brightness and cypress a dark, resinous greenness. The heart is a refined bouquet: lily of the valley fresh, iris cool and powdery, and jasmine and rose rich and velvety. The base is classic and warm, with oakmoss and vetiver giving a damp, earthy, grassy depth, and sandalwood a soft, smooth finish.

About half of wearers find its longevity moderate, with over a third saying it lasts long, and most describe its projection as moderate. It is voted mainly for autumn and spring and worn more by day. That suggests elegant daytime wear, for someone who likes classic aldehydic florals with a mossy base.
