Pinnace Noir, composed by Miroslav Petkov for French Avenue in 2024, is a spicy woody scent worn by anyone, with sweetness, flowers and citrus in the mix. Spicy and woody are the words everyone uses; about two thirds also call it sweet, floral and citrusy.
Lemon and bergamot open it with a clean zest, joined by apple for a crisp sweetness. Cinnamon and clove then take over, warm and bold, the kind of spice associated with winter baking, while geranium and orange blossom add a rosy, slightly honeyed floral lift. Brazilian rosewood, cedar and sandalwood form a smooth, dry base, and vanilla softens the spices into a warm, comfortable finish.
Reports on longevity and sillage have not yet been gathered. By character this is an autumn and winter scent, well suited to evenings and cold days, and to someone who enjoys clove and cinnamon worn warm rather than sharp. It is sold in a large bottle.
