Etra by Etro, released in 1999, is woody and floral in equal measure, with a prominent spicy side and light touches of sweetness and musk. It is a soft, quietly spiced scent worn by anyone.

The opening is spicy and aromatic: cardamom brings a cool, slightly lemony spice, coriander a herbal warmth, and Brazilian rosewood a smooth, gently floral wood. The heart is the fullest part, with jasmine, rose and geranium forming a floral layer over sandalwood and cedar, while paprika adds an unusual, warm, dry red-pepper accent. The base is short and soft, made of musk and vanilla for a clean, lightly sweet finish.

Most wearers report moderate longevity, though some find it weak, and about half describe the trail as intimate, staying close to the skin. It is voted for autumn and spring and mostly for daytime, making it a discreet choice for work and personal everyday wear.
