Wall Street is a fresh, marine-tinged citrus scent from Bond No 9, released in 2004 and composed by David Apel. Everyone describes it as fresh, ambery and citrusy, and about half also find it woody, musky and aromatic.
Its notes are given as one list rather than in stages. Lemon and bitter orange provide the zest, and cucumber and seaweed give the scent its cool, watery, slightly salty character, which is what makes it feel like sea air rather than a fruit bowl. Lavender adds an aromatic edge, and pistachio a soft, nutty roundness. Underneath, ambergris, vetiver and musk bring a warm, dry base that keeps the freshness from floating away.
It is worn by anyone. Most wearers find it long lasting, which is unusual for something this airy, and projection is usually moderate. Summer and spring collect most of the votes, and it is clearly a daytime scent. It suits hot weather and someone who wants a clean, salty freshness with more backbone than a typical aquatic.
