Search is Amouage's citrus and incense scent, released in 2023 and composed by Alexis Grugeon. Citrus is the first word everyone uses, two thirds add woody and resinous, and a third find it spicy. It is worn by anyone.
The opening is a triple citrus of lime, lemon and mandarin, sharp and clean. The heart replaces fruit with resin: frankincense and elemi, both bright and slightly lemony incenses, with black pepper for a dry bite. The base is smoky and dry rather than sweet, with cade oil bringing a tarry, campfire edge, vetiver adding earth and guaiac wood a soft, slightly smoked woodiness.
Most wearers report it as long lasting, a quarter call it moderate, and sillage is split between moderate and strong, which is unusual stamina for a citrus. Summer and spring are the preferred seasons, and it is voted for day about two to one. It suits someone who wants a summer scent with more character than a cologne, with the incense giving it an evening side as well.
