The opening is immediate and warm: tobacco leaf brings a dry, honeyed, slightly hay-like richness, while cinnamon, black pepper and ginger add a hot, lively spice. The heart deepens the sweetness, with vanilla, tonka bean and cocoa giving a creamy, chocolate-tinged warmth, cloves and star anise a spiced, liquorice-like edge and incense a thread of smoke. The base is dark and dry, as tobacco returns alongside dried fruits and woodsy notes for a raisin-sweet, resinous finish.
