125th & Bloom by Vilhelm Parfumerie (2020) is a woody floral in which wood and flowers share the lead, and about half of those who describe it also note spice, greenery and leather.
Saffron opens with a warm, golden, slightly leathery spice, and angelica a fresh, green, herbal note with a musky edge. The heart pairs rose, velvety and soft, with violet, gently powdery. The base is dark and smooth: ebony and ebony tree give a dense, dry, slightly smoky dark wood, and leather a supple, polished texture.
It is shared and can be worn by anyone. 125th & Bloom suits autumn and winter, evenings and smart occasions, and has a city feel, as the street name suggests. It should appeal to people who like rose and violet framed by dark woods and leather, in a refined, slightly urban style rather than a sweet one.
