Grapefruit opens it, bitter and bright, with pimento adding a warm, peppery spice. The heart is geranium and Bourbon geranium, rosy, green and slightly minty, which gives the scent its floral side without any softness. The base is where it becomes distinctive: maple syrup brings a dark, woody sweetness, tonka bean a creamy, almond-like warmth, and patchouli, cedar and sandalwood a dry, earthy, smooth wood. Mineral notes and lava add a dry, stony, slightly smoky quality that is unusual and keeps the sweetness from feeling soft.
