Vanilla Absolue, created by Andy Tauer for Tauer Perfumes in 2025, is a rich vanilla framed by tobacco, resins and rose. Everyone who describes it calls it gourmand, floral and amber, while about half also notice spice, wood and resin.
Spicy notes and geranium give the opening a warm, slightly rosy and peppery lift, and dried fruits add a dark, sticky, raisin-like sweetness. Rose brings a velvety floral heart. Tobacco and tobacco leaf then deepen the scent with a dry, honeyed, hay-like warmth, supported by coumarin, which smells of almond and fresh hay. The base is resinous and glowing: labdanum and other resins give an ambery, balsamic richness, patchouli an earthy depth, ambergris a soft, salty radiance, and vanilla a creamy, enveloping sweetness.
It is worn by anyone and suits people who want vanilla with complexity and a darker edge. The tobacco and resins point to autumn and winter, evenings and slow, cosy occasions. Those who enjoy vanilla-tobacco ambers will find it rich, layered and warming.
