Madeleine is a soft, sweet almond musk, released by the French house Parfumerie Particulière in 2017, composed by Anne-Sophie Behaghel and Amélie Bourgeois and intended for women.

Bergamot opens it with a brief, bright citrus. The heart is almond and bitter almond, a smooth, marzipan-like sweetness with a slightly sharp, cherry-stone edge, paired with heliotrope, which adds a soft, powdery, vanilla-almond note. White musk and musk form the base, clean and skin-like, so the almond lingers close to the skin rather than projecting.

The composition is deliberately simple, evoking the small French cake of the name. It suits autumn and winter and quiet, everyday wear, the sort of scent for a desk or a coat collar rather than a night out, and anyone who likes gentle almond-and-musk scents should find it comfortable.
