The note list is long and not split into stages, so think of it in layers. Grapefruit, bergamot, lemon, mandarin and orange give a sharp, sunny brightness. Black pepper, cardamom and saffron add warmth and bite. Jasmine, lily, orange blossom and orris root bring a floral, lightly powdery middle, with fig and plum adding a soft fruity sweetness. Cedar, sandalwood, vetiver and patchouli form a dry woody floor, and tonka bean, ambergris and musk round it off with a warm, skin-like finish.
