Un Bois by Obvious is a woody fragrance with a strong amber side and touches of spice and citrus. Anne-Sophie Behaghel and Amélie Bourgeois composed it, it was released in 2020, and it is worn by anyone.

Bergamot opens it with a short, bright citrus lift, and black pepper and pepper add a dry, crackling spice. Papyrus brings a dry, slightly smoky, reed-like note. The woody core is clean and clear, with cedar, including Virginia cedar, giving a dry, pencil-shaving woodiness and vetiver an earthy, slightly smoky depth. Gurjun balsam adds a soft, resinous warmth, and ambroxan a smooth, salty, ambery glow.

Clean and calm, it suits any season, especially autumn and spring, for daytime, the office and smart occasions. Anyone who wants a straightforward, dry woody scent with a peppery edge and a warm ambery finish, rather than a sweet or floral one, will find it a reliable, understated choice. As the name, meaning a wood, suggests, it is a simple, honest study of woods.
