B*Men, from Mugler, is a masculine fragrance composed by Christine Nagel and Jacques Huclier and released in 2004. Woods lead, with a strong spicy side and lighter sweet, musky, floral and leather touches.
Licorice and anise give a dark, sweet, slightly medicinal opening, distinctive and unusual. Spices add warmth, and violet a soft, powdery floral note. The base is dark and textured: leather brings a supple, smoky depth, patchouli an earthy richness, cedar and vetiver a dry, grassy woodiness, and vanilla and musk a warm, smooth sweetness that softens the darker notes.
About half of wearers report that it lasts long, and about half describe its projection as strong. It is voted almost equally for winter and autumn, and worn by day and at night in roughly equal measure. That suggests cold-weather wear, from office days to evenings out, for someone who likes dark, licorice-tinged leather woods with a sweet, powdery edge.
