Veritas by the British house Memoize London, released in 2022 and composed by Tristan Badard, is a green, spicy scent with a salty freshness. Everyone who describes it calls it green; about two thirds also find it spicy and fresh, and a minority notice gourmand, musky or citrus sides.
Bergamot opens it with a clean citrus lift, quickly joined by cardamom and saffron for a warm, slightly leathery spice. A marine note and coconut sit in the middle, an unusual pairing that gives a salty, creamy, beach-like feel. Fig adds a green, milky sweetness. Oakmoss and moss form a damp, earthy base, cistus adds a resinous, slightly smoky warmth, and sandalwood with musk smooths the finish.
Veritas is worn by anyone. Its green, coastal character suits spring and summer daytime wear, and it will appeal to someone who likes fig and moss scents with an unexpected salty twist.
