Tigre du Bengale from the Norwegian house Malbrum Parfums, composed by Delphine Thierry in 2015, is a dark, resinous fragrance with tobacco and an animalic leather edge. Everyone who describes it calls it resinous, and about half also notice spice, wood, aromatic notes and leather.
Juniper opens it with a fresh, gin-like, coniferous lift, and cardamom with a cool, aromatic spice. The heart is rich in resins: myrrh brings a bittersweet, smoky, slightly medicinal balsam, and labdanum a sticky, ambery, leathery warmth. The base is darker and more feral, with tobacco adding a dry, honeyed leafiness, patchouli an earthy depth and castoreum a warm, leathery, animalic richness that gives the scent its tiger-like growl.
